Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the websites at storybynumbers.com and app.storybynumbers.com (“BridgeVideo”), operated by Jason Yergeau, trading as Story by Numbers, based in Haarlem, the Netherlands. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

BridgeVideo is a video rendering platform. It lets you create video projects, upload media assets, generate rendered video using cloud infrastructure, and optionally publish to connected social media accounts. We also offer an API for programmatic access.

2. Accounts

Access to BridgeVideo requires an account. Accounts are currently available by invitation only. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that remain inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where possible.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of all content you upload or create on BridgeVideo, including images, video, audio, text, and project configurations. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and render that content solely to provide the service to you.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any content you upload. Do not upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property, contains illegal material, or violates applicable law.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform to produce, store, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, or harmful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure
  • Use the API in a way that places unreasonable load on our systems
  • Resell access to the platform without written permission
  • Use AI features to generate content that violates the acceptable use policies of our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, ElevenLabs)

5. Credits and billing

Certain actions on BridgeVideo (rendering, AI features, text-to-speech) consume credits from your account balance. Credit costs are displayed before you confirm an action. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law.

We reserve the right to adjust pricing with reasonable notice. Existing credit balances will not be devalued retroactively.

6. Third-party services

BridgeVideo integrates with third-party services including Amazon Web Services, Supabase, OpenAI, Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Meta / Instagram, and MapTiler. Your use of features that rely on these services is also subject to their respective terms of service.

When you connect a social media account (such as Instagram), you authorise us to publish content on your behalf only when you explicitly initiate a publish action.

7. API access

If you use the BridgeVideo API, you are responsible for all activity under your API keys. API keys should be kept confidential and not shared. We may rate-limit or revoke API access if we detect abuse or excessive usage.

8. Availability and warranties

We aim to keep the platform available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law.

We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of changes that materially affect your use of the platform.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Story by Numbers is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Intellectual property

The BridgeVideo platform, including its code, design, layouts, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Story by Numbers. Your right to use the platform does not transfer any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

Video layouts and templates provided by the platform are licensed for your use within the service. Rendered output using these layouts is yours to use without restriction.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account closure, we will delete your data in accordance with our privacy policy.

We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these terms. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data before deletion.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the district of Noord-Holland, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
